We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve signed a publishing deal with 505 Games and will release Mutant Football League into the United States this Fall.
We had the opportunity to work closely with 505 Games over the past six months. From their passion and the enthusiasm with which they approach their work, to their desire to help make the game the best it can be, 505 Games’ dedicated work ethic is refreshing.
While the game will be a standalone experience, we will continue to have access to all of the Mutant Football League support, online leagues, and other great perks we have today.
To celebrate our new relationship, we will be inviting a few lucky players into a closed beta of the game. More details will follow as we get closer to the release, but in the meantime, keep your eyes on the Club Alpha page on our website as we’ll be posting a lot more information about the game there, including its launch date.
For those players who haven’t bought the game yet, it is available now on Steam for $39.99! It also works on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PSP (at a lower price). In this week’s update we update the look and feel of the game, introduce a new character and a few monsters, and close out the beta with three new Arena maps. It’s available for pre-order on the Kindle Store now. I recently launched a KickStarter campaign to fund a translation of more content from the Midgard Arms systems core rule books. I’m really excited about this one. I learned a lot after going through the last two Midgard Arm book projects and finally finished all the editing a few months ago. After playing it at the 50-player game at Flames during GenCon, there’s a lot of material to add to the PDF and physical book.
For the length of the printed campaign book, there are three PDFs at a $13.89 price for early beta preview, cost $39 for a final PDF, or $59 for both PDFs and printing costs. A 200-page physical trade paperback manuscript will ship in August and cost $35.
Kickstarter funding at the $15 minimum will still reduce the cost of both PDFs and the paperback by 50%. Any amount below the $15 minimum will help fund the three PDFs. I’ve raised about $7,000 of the goal (yikes!!!) and through this pre-order page, readers can pre-order for the holidays at a lower cost. Pre-orders assist my funding goal and cover the cost of the shipping costs.
Some advance copies with some new maps and scenarios have also been delivered. I was also fortunate enough to get the World Builder Kit through the same order pre-sales mechanism – you can see what Matt has been up to.

Fighter Story
The manga fighter is the skill level player’s choice – either a cardio endurance juggernaut or quick and lethal. Players can walk a straight line or burst and strike 3 times in 12 hours, depending on class. The class focuses on the warrior’s training and skills, but that is balanced by having the fighter focus on combat flexibility. The total of 2,650 skill points includes 6 skill points from the martial (religions) bonus from the fighter background. The martial bonus increases the fighter’s base skill ranking for one area per fighter level. For example, the monk has a +3 bonus when fighting while the swordswoman has +6, but the Armorer can set a range appropriate to the weapon’s damage without penalizing their class.
